Because of her orthopaedic care, my daughter Emily can move much more independently and with greater confidence.
Story is submitted on behalf of Emily’s mother, Kathy Kendall.
Her increased mobility means she is going more in general rather than staying home to avoid the walking involved. Her classmates chose her as freshman homecoming maid this fall and she easily made the trek across the football field as she was presented to the audience. In addition to her orthopaedic difficulties, Emily has Down Syndrome. Gilbert felt that she was worth “fixing” and her improved mobility has greatly enhanced the quality of her life.
