Because of my orthopaedic care, I can walk and exercise.

I was in a near-death auto collision in April 1980. 3 inches of my left femur were shattered out of my left leg and my left elbow was broken in approx. 50 pcs. I’ve had about 19 major and minor orthopaedic surgeries. I’ve had on 2 Ilizarov external fixators, an EBI external fixator and an ISKD internal fixator. In addition, I’ve needed a IM Schneider Nail in my left femur and 3 reconstructive surgeries on my elbow which still has somewhat limited R.O.M. My most recent orthopaedic surgery was in 2003 or 2004, when I had the ISK Internal Fixator. My initial hospitalization after the accident went from April 19, 1980, to August 5, 1980. Of that time, my left elbow and left leg were in traction for a good portion of that time.
