I was born with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and multiple epiphyseal dysplasia. I had 4 operations on my knees and ankles when I was younger to correct my development and placement of my knees! Recently, in September of 2014, I had to quit my job with no options for surgery. I had to drop my insurance while I was working due to my rates doubling and I couldn’t afford it, and then later that year I had to quit my job because the pain was so unbearable and I was unable to perform my job tasks! I was out of options and had no idea what to do, and then Dr. Muzzonigro and the group of Operation Walk found me! I made an appointment and next thing I knew it was November 2014 and I was getting a total left hip replacement! This November of 2015 he performed a total hip replacement on my right hip! My pain is gone, my mobility of my hip motion has never been this good and I can do so many more activities with my son which makes me happy! I’m losing weight, I’m down 15lbs since my second surgery and plan on losing 35 more pounds, I’m working out, and plan on doing a bicycle charity ride of 65 miles in July! I have never felt this good in my life! Thank god for Operation walk, Dr. Muzzonigro, and any other doctors who are giving their skills and services to help people.

My treatment and recovery

Honestly, it felt great to get the care, treatment, and physical therapy I received! I was back to doing things about 6-8 weeks after each surgery.

Do your physical therapy! Do not skip any exercises! The more you do without over doing it usually means the faster you get back on track!

My Second First

Because of my orthopaedic care I can make many memories and do activities with my son. I can now hike and repel again, ride quads and am able to stand up without being in pain, which I have never experienced in my whole life!
