I became an orthopaedic surgeon because...

I like to fix things. Orthopaedic surgery allows me to diagnose, determine the cause of pain, and fix it. You see the immediate results of your work. That is gratifying.

What is the most rewarding part of being an orthopaedic surgeon?

Seeing a grateful patient who is now out of pain is the most rewarding part of my work. The immediate feedback is rewarding.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy traveling and lecturing around the world.

In what volunteer activities or efforts do you engage that mean the most to you and those you serve?

Teaching others the lessons I have learned in orthopaedics is something I enjoy doing, whether paid or not. Passing on my knowledge so other patients worldwide can benefit from less invasive procedures is one of my passions.
