Because of my orthopaedic care from Dr. Berlet and his staff, I was able to begin riding my bike about 10 weeks after my surgery, and was able to build up my miles and eventually to ride 100 miles on October 24, 2012; approximately 5 months after my STAR ankle replacement.

I have ridden over a thousand miles since my ankle replacement; and if all goes well I hope to ride over 5,000 miles this spring, summer and fall riding season.  Next year, if my plans work out, I am planning to ride my bike across America – a distance of approximately 3,000 miles in about 60 days.
